# Romans 11:36

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever! Amen.

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "Because from him and by him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever. Amen."

## Protestant Usage

"From him and by him and for him are all things." Paul's doxology names God as the source, the agent and the goal of creation. When it is argued that the Son "came out of God" in the same way creation did, the wording points the other way: creation is "from" God as its cause, not carved out of his being, and the Son is never listed among the "all things." Instead Paul gives the Son the same roles: all things were created "through him and for him" (Colossians 1:16), and there is "one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are" (1 Corinthians 8:6). The one for whom all things exist is not one of the things made.
