# Revelation 2:20

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> But I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess. By her teaching she misleads My servants to be sexually immoral and to eat food sacrificed to idols.

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "Nevertheless, I do hold this against you, that you tolerate that woman Jezʹe·bel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and misleads my slaves to commit sexual immorality and to eat things sacrificed to idols."

## Protestant Usage

The risen Christ, introduced as "the Son of God" (2:18), calls the congregation's members "my slaves." Together with Revelation 20:6 ("priests of God and of the Christ") and 22:3 (one "throne of God and of the Lamb," where "his slaves will offer him sacred service"), the book gives Christ the servants and priests that Scripture gives only to God.
