# Revelation 12:10

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying: “Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the authority of His Christ. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down— he who accuses them day and night before our God.

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the Kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God!"

## JW Usage

JWs read Revelation 12:10 as describing Satan's expulsion from heaven in 1914 following Christ's invisible enthronement — the inception of the last days and Satan's intensified activity on earth. They emphasise Satan's role as accuser to underline why Witnesses must remain loyal to Jehovah's organisation against the pressures of the world.

## Protestant Usage

The verse names Satan's actual scriptural job description: accuser. "The accuser of our brothers has been hurled down, who accuses them day and night before our God". Combined with John 8:44 (father of lies), Hebrews 2:14 (held the power of death), and the temptation/accusation pattern across the canon, the diabolical inventory in scripture is deception, accusation, temptation, and bondage. What scripture does NOT attribute to Satan is rain, harvests, marital faithfulness, parental love, scientific discovery, healthy babies, or honest work. Those are common-grace gifts of the Father (Matthew 5:45; Acts 14:17; James 1:17). The rhetorical move "Satan also blesses worldly people" reassigns common grace to the accuser — a category error scripture nowhere authorises.
