sets the true God apart from every other "god" by one act: creation. "All the gods of the peoples are worthless gods, but Jehovah is the one who made the heavens." Making the heavens is the mark that separates Jehovah from all lesser gods. With , and , it belongs to the cumulative case that the Creator is Jehovah alone, which is why the New Testament's statements that all things were made through the Son (; ; ) place him on the Creator's side of that line, not among the "gods."
