# Numbers 6:24

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> ‘May the LORD bless you and keep you;

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "May Jehovah bless you and safeguard you."

## JW Usage

JWs accept Numbers 6:24 as Jehovah's covenant blessing on Israel and often quote it in convention talks and family worship. They affirm Jehovah blesses and safeguards his people — but they restrict the full intimacy of that blessing to the anointed class, with the great crowd receiving its earthly shadow.

## Protestant Usage

"May Jehovah bless you and safeguard you" is the first line of the benediction Aaron pronounced over EVERY Israelite — singular pronoun, addressed to each covenant member. The grammar admits no two-tier reading. The blessing extends in 2 Corinthians 3:18 to "we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord", and in 1 John 3:2 to every believer who "will see him as he is". The Aaronic blessing is not a class privilege; it is the standing posture of God toward every member of his covenant people, then and now.
