# Numbers 6:22

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> Then the LORD said to Moses,

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "Then Jehovah said to Moses:"

## JW Usage

JWs receive the Aaronic blessing as a Jehovah-given form of benediction for Israel under the Mosaic covenant — the Tetragrammaton preserved faithfully and used as a proof of the Watchtower's emphasis on Jehovah's name. They do not typically link the benediction to a covenant promise extended to every member of God's people.

## Protestant Usage

Verse 22 is the speech-introduction frame for the Aaronic blessing that follows in verses 24-26. Jehovah personally instructs Moses to give Aaron and his sons a blessing to pronounce over the WHOLE congregation of Israel — not over a priestly remnant or a special class. Use this verse to set up Numbers 6:24-26 as covenant blessing to all of God's people, undermining the JW two-tier soteriology where face-shining and direct divine favour belong only to the 144,000.
