Matthew 11:30
Matthew 11:3030For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
is invoked by JW publications as encouragement for Witnesses who feel the weight of organisational expectations. The "kindly yoke" and "light load" are reinterpreted as the privilege of Kingdom service — preaching, meeting attendance, and obedience to the Governing Body's direction. Witnesses who feel the burden are encouraged to adjust their attitude rather than question whether the burden is the one Jesus described.
Hold the verse up as a diagnostic. Jesus says his yoke is easy and his burden is light. If a Witness experiences perpetual anxiety about field-service hours, judicial committees, the next "new light," and survival at Armageddon, the burden being carried is not the one Jesus offers. Pair with (the fruit of the Spirit — "love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law") and (the legalistic yoke "no one has been able to bear"). The verse is pastoral, not polemical: it gives the Witness permission to notice the disconnect between Jesus's promise and the experience of organisational life.
