# Mark 16:7

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> But go, tell His disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see Him, just as He told you.’”

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "But go, tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.'"

## JW Usage

Mark 16:7 receives little JW commentary. Where it appears, it is read as the angel's directive to the disciples to meet Jesus in Galilee — confirming the post-resurrection appearances of the Gospels but not interacting with the JW doctrine of an invisible parousia in 1914. The verse functions as background narrative rather than as a load-bearing argument verse.

## Protestant Usage

Mark 16:7 is a small but cumulative piece of evidence for the bodily resurrection and the visible post-resurrection ministry the Watchtower's invisible-parousia framework has to flatten. Pair Mark 16:7 with Acts 1:9-11 (visible ascension, with two angels saying Jesus would return "in the same manner") and Luke 24:39 ("a spirit has no flesh and bones, as you see I have"). The risen Jesus appeared in Galilee in his physical body, ate with his disciples, and ascended visibly. The angels in Acts 1 said his return would mirror his departure — visible, bodily, witnessed. The 1914 invisible-presence doctrine cannot be squared with the angels' own description.
