# Luke 1:35

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the Holy One to be born will be called the Son of God.

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "Holy spirit will come upon you, and power of the Most High will overshadow you. And for that reason the one who is born will be called holy, God’s Son."

## Protestant Usage

Luke 1:35 gives the reason the child conceived by the holy spirit "will be called holy, God's Son." It describes how the Son entered human life, not the moment he began to exist; Jesus speaks of "the glory that I had alongside you before the world was" (John 17:5).
