Isaiah 1:17

OT Prophets
Isaiah 1:17
17Learn to do right; seek justice and correct the oppressor. Defend the fatherless and plead the case of the widow.”

JW Usage

— "Learn to do good. Seek justice. Correct the oppressor. Defend the rights of the fatherless; plead the cause of the widow" — is read by JWs as a general moral exhortation. The Watchtower's neutrality doctrine treats the verbs ("seek justice," "correct the oppressor," "plead the cause") as fulfilled through the preaching work and personal kindness; organised civic action — marches, voting, jury service, petitioning — is forbidden as participation in "Satan's world system."
