Hebrews 7:25
Hebrews 7:2525Therefore He is able to save completely those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to intercede for them.
"He is able also to save completely those who are approaching God through him, because he is always alive to plead for them" (NWT). JWs read this as confirmation that salvation is mediated through Jesus's intercession — but the substantive content of "saving completely" is then narrowed by the Watchtower's two-class soteriology (full salvation belongs to the 144,000; the great crowd has the earthly hope) and by ongoing-compliance soteriology (Christ's intercession applies to those continuing in organisational obedience).
is the New Testament's strongest single statement of Christ's saving sufficiency. "Save completely" — eis to panteles — reaches the limits of what salvation can be: complete, total, to the uttermost. The grounds are explicit: he is always alive to plead. The continual life of the resurrected Christ in his human nature is the ongoing guarantee that no one approaching God through him can be cast off. Pair with ("his priesthood has no successors" because it endures forever) and ("Christ Jesus is at the right hand of God and is also pleading for us"). The doorstep question: "Who is pleading for you right now? If Jesus reverted to being Michael, the answer is no one, and 's 'always alive to plead' becomes false."
