Some older English versions (Wycliffe, Tyndale, Douay-Rheims) read "faithful to him that made him" (Greek poieō, which commonly means "appoint" when used of an office, as in ). Modern translations, including the NWT, read "the One who appointed him," so the verse speaks of Jesus' appointment as apostle and high priest (3:1), not his creation. The next two verses go the other way: Jesus has more glory than Moses "since the one who constructs a house has more honor than the house itself," and "the one who constructed all things is God" (3:3-4).
