# Hebrews 3:2

## Text (Berean Standard Bible)

> He was faithful to the One who appointed Him, just as Moses was faithful in all God’s house.

## NWT Wording of the Key Phrase

- NWT (2013 revision): "He was faithful to the One who appointed him, just as Moses also was in all the house of that One."

## Protestant Usage

Some older English versions (Wycliffe, Tyndale, Douay-Rheims) read "faithful to him that made him" (Greek poieō, which commonly means "appoint" when used of an office, as in Mark 3:14). Modern translations, including the NWT, read "the One who appointed him," so the verse speaks of Jesus' appointment as apostle and high priest (3:1), not his creation. The next two verses go the other way: Jesus has more glory than Moses "since the one who constructs a house has more honor than the house itself," and "the one who constructed all things is God" (3:3-4).

## Arguments Using This Verse

- [Jehovah Created Alone — So Jesus Must Be Jehovah](https://jw-apologetics.app/arguments/isaiah44-creator.md) — Isaiah 44:24 [Deity of Christ]
