Galatians 3:10

NT Letters
Galatians 3:10
10All who rely on works of the law are under a curse. For it is written: “Cursed is everyone who does not continue to do everything written in the Book of the Law.”

JW Usage

JWs cite to confirm that the Mosaic Law is obsolete — Christians are not under the Law of Moses. The Watchtower treats the curse as lifting once a person leaves Judaism and enters "the Christian arrangement." Organisational obedience to the Governing Body is then presented as something other than "works of law," so the curse of 3:10 is said not to apply.

Protestant Usage

Paul's argument is broader than first-century circumcision. He is stating the mechanism by which any rule-based righteousness system works: to stand before God by compliance is to stand under the whole weight of that rule-system — and (which Paul quotes) declares "cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things written." The doorstep form: any system where your standing with God depends on what you do — meeting hours, field service, organisational loyalty — puts you under the same logic, because partial obedience is no obedience at all. says the same thing: the one who stumbles at one point is guilty of breaking the whole law. The escape is not a better list of rules. The escape is Christ, who "became a curse for us" ().
