NT Letters
Colossians 3:25
25Whoever does wrong will be repaid for his wrong, and there is no favoritism.

JW Usage

"The one who does wrong will receive back what he wrongly did, and there is no partiality" is read alongside the broader Watchtower frame of judgment according to works — behave well to secure Jehovah's favour; behave badly and face recompense. Salvation is contingent on the final score.

Protestant Usage

The wrongdoing passage in Paul is not the basis of final salvation for believers — it is the public vindication that evil never slips past God's justice. There are two kinds of judgment in the New Testament. The judgment of condemnation falls on those whose names are not in the Lamb's book of life (). The judgment-seat evaluation of believers (, ) concerns reward and loss within an already- secured salvation — Paul explicitly says the believer whose substandard work is burned up will still be saved, "even though only as through fire." 's "no partiality" cuts both ways in Paul's context: slave-owners cannot shelter behind social rank to excuse wrongdoing, and slaves are not beneath God's careful regard. It is a justice promise, not a salvation formula. Hold it together with ("no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus") — every text operates within its own genre.
