Acts 4:12

NT Acts
Acts 4:12
12Salvation exists in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved.”
Read in NWT ↗
JW Usage

JWs acknowledge that salvation comes through Jesus but frame Jesus as the appointed agent — Jehovah saves, Jesus is the instrument. is read compatibly with the JW framework: "no other name" means no other agent besides the one Jehovah appointed.

Protestant Usage

Lay beside — both verses in the NWT. : "besides me there is no saviour." : "there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved." If no saviour exists besides Jehovah, and Jesus is named as the sole saving name, then either Jesus is included in who Jehovah is or Scripture contradicts itself. The verse does not say "Jesus is the best-appointed agent of Jehovah's salvation." It says "no salvation in anyone else." An exclusive claim matched by an exclusive claim. Pair with — even the NWT calls Jesus "our great God and Saviour" — and the pattern is consistent: Jesus holds the title that Isaiah reserves for Jehovah alone.
