Acts 15:10
Acts 15:1010Now then, why do you test God by placing on the necks of the disciples a yoke that neither we nor our fathers have been able to bear?
JWs read Peter's warning — "Now therefore why are you making a test of God by putting upon the neck of the disciples a yoke that neither our forefathers nor we were capable of bearing?" — as exclusively about the Mosaic Law of circumcision. The Watchtower's own system of tracked field-service hours, counted meeting attendance, blood-policy compliance, and loyalty-to-the-organisation requirements is not seen as a yoke of the kind Peter describes.
Peter's words are the diagnostic test for any religious system. He calls it "making a test of God" to impose a yoke the disciples cannot bear. Jesus had already said "my yoke is easy and my burden is light" (). Paul would later warn "stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be confined again in a yoke of slavery" (). Three texts, one pattern. Ask your JW friend to read alongside : if monthly hour reports, required meeting attendance, and consequence-laden policy compliance leave you weary rather than rested, Peter's test is failing where it matters most — inside your own chest.
