2 Corinthians 11:4

NT Letters
2 Corinthians 11:4
4For if someone comes and proclaims a Jesus other than the One we proclaimed, or if you receive a different spirit than the One you received, or a different gospel than the one you accepted, you put up with it way too easily.

JW Usage

"For if someone comes and preaches a Jesus other than the one we preached, or if you receive a spirit other than what you received, or a good news other than what you accepted" is cited by JWs against "Christendom" — trinitarianism is framed as "another Jesus," and the mainstream Christian gospel as "another good news." On this reading, the Watchtower is the one holding fast to the first-century apostolic Jesus against the pagan-influenced corrupted Jesus of post-Constantinian Christianity.

Apply Paul's test in both directions — then look carefully at which Jesus is being preached. Paul's Jesus is the one through whom and for whom all things were created (, NWT); who holds all things together; who is the exact representation of God's being (, NWT); who is rightly addressed in prayer by Stephen, Paul, and John; who is worshipped by the Lamb-on-the-throne of . That is the Jesus of first-century apostolic Scripture.
The Watchtower's Jesus is Michael the Archangel — a created creature, the "firstborn of all creation" read as "first among creation" rather than "ranking over all creation." This is a genuinely different Christology from what Paul preached. is the test: the Jesus who creates and is worshipped, or the Jesus who is an angel? Paul's rule, read fairly, cuts in one direction.
