# The Bible's Promise of Paradise

JWs present Revelation 21 and Isaiah 65 as proof that God will restore earth to a paradise — no more death, suffering, or tears. This is their most emotionally appealing presentation and often resonates with people who are grieving or suffering.

## Recognition Signals

- "paradise"
- "no more death"
- "new earth"
- "live forever"
- "Revelation 21"
- "Isaiah 65"
- "tears wiped away"
- "garden of Eden"
- "paradise on earth"

## Opening Question

> "I love that hope too — God will make all things new. But can I ask: who gets to be in that paradise? Jesus said "unless someone is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God" (John 3:3). Have you personally been born again?"

## Expected JW Responses

### Response 1

**JW says:** "Being born again is only for the 144,000 anointed class."

**Observation:** This is the key pivot. Jesus said "unless SOMEONE" — not "unless one of the 144,000." The word is tis (anyone). Ask: "If you haven't been born again, how do you enter God's kingdom?"

### Response 2

**JW says:** "The great crowd will live on earth, not in heaven."

**Observation:** Even in their framework, the great crowd must enter God's kingdom. Redirect: "Whether the kingdom is experienced on earth or in heaven, Jesus says you must be born again to enter it. Has that happened to you?"

### Response 3

**JW says:** "We earn our place in paradise through faithful service."

**Observation:** This reveals the works-salvation framework. Contrast with Luke 23:43 — the thief on the cross had zero works and Jesus promised him paradise that very day.

## Follow-Up

The paradise promise is beautiful — but the question is how you get there. The thief on the cross had done nothing to earn it. He simply trusted Jesus — and Jesus said "today you will be with me in paradise." That's the gospel: not earning paradise through works, but receiving it as a gift through faith in Jesus.
